I just can't bring myself to annotate books or use those stickers. I am sure some people find the practice genuinely helpful and enjoyable, but it feels performative when I do it.

I go and find a book that excites me based on the cover/blurb alone. Then I go next door from my favorite bookstore to my favorite coffee shop and immediately start reading. I just need momentum, so I have to get myself a book that I want to read "right now".

I need a book club. But, it just consists of my friends. And, we only read books I have already read that I really need my friends to read as well. Also, they are required to text me live updates when they hit the good parts.

As an aussie owner, the double merle is so sad. Breeders only do it because merles sell for far more than non-merles. But 25% of the litter will have crippling health issues. And aussies are such a sweet breed of dog.

Last year I read 47 books. This year so far, I have read 5. I am going to blame it on 2025 being a write off year. It simply doesn't count.
