Well you do need to see the payback in at most 3 years since leasing your EV is the common advice on how to manage depreciation.

Im not saying you can’t save money but you need to factor in all the costs of a new car vs your current one and charging has become increasingly expensive

Im just hoarding cash

Probably the only way to pull that off is with those sub $200/month leases they used to offer on Ioniq 6

That can be true if you keep it long enough

Im talking more about people thinking Theyre going to improve their financial situation over the 12-18 month window by buying / leasing an EV for the gas savings

Theres definitely a point of no return on a car (ask me about my moms LS430) but you also see a lot of people trading in perfectly fine cars and rolling over negative equity when they should just drive it and pay it off
