My dog literally punches me when I’m doomscrolling and he wants to eat, go out, play, walk. He knocks that rectangle of rot right out of my hands. Dogs are smart.

I certainly don’t disagree. Yet, and still, lobster tail is even more frivolous than crab (although shrimp legs would be the peak of useless decadence).

Typo: the $6.9 million was for lobster tails, not crab.

Yes, it certainly doesn’t seem as if it went past the Pentagon, probably just to the EDRs (although perhaps also to people’s homes). A reporter could try to find some current/former EDR kitchen staff for insights? Seems quite doubtful that taxpayer-funded Pentagon lobster tails made it to Syria.

Yes, and? We still have laws. As historian Daniel Croat noted, “Brown's raid succeeded brilliantly. It drove a wedge through the already tentative and fragile Opposition–Republican coalition and helped to intensify the sectional polarization that soon tore the Democratic party and the Union apart.”

Yeah, I worked in state government. Coming up on the end of the fiscal year we went hog wild buying pens and notepads—and we still had to fucking justify our expenditures.

This is particularly talking about one month, last September, the end of the fiscal year, to burn through their budget allocation. That said, the article notes lobster tail is apparently a favorite with $6.9M spent on it in September plus another $7.4M spent on it in March, May, June and October.

Are you talking about Arlene, the woman who lost her mind (apparently Stendahl Syndrome) in Venice? She later apologized to him and sent him flowers, so not exactly much of a scandal or whatever. Or are you referring to something else?

Why does everyevilthing have to self-flagellate and fapp off to Trunt in every Trunt-aggrandizing tweet, press release, statement, drunken aside? It’s sickening.

OP draws a bad, mistaken conclusion, but the headline is also incredibly misleading and appears to absolve the lone drunk driver of responsibility for the trajectory of his life…all in the name id clickbait.

The subhead continues playing into this fictional fraud: “Steve Emt was a walk-on basketball player at the University of Connecticut before a drunk driving accident changed the direction of his life.” But was it a shitty copy editor or just out-of-touch AI?

The story is one of redemption, which is cool. However the headline makes it sound as if the guy was an innocent victim of a drunk driver, when he’s anything but: “A drunken driver's car crash left him paralyzed. Now he's a Paralympian.” This is absurd clickbait BS. WTAF rohannadkarni.bsky.social?

This reads like every random fatwa against the imperial USA and will surely result in actually inspiring many such anti-U.S. fatwas, making all Americans, wherever in the world, targets. Thanks for nothing, again, Trunt.
