A heavily cropped shot of a Red-winged Blackbird (Agelaius phoeniceus) perched on the head of a resting White-tailed deer. Both male and female Red-winged Blackbirds patrol their nest territory perching on any vantage point and loudly declaring their ownership. This deer's head was just perfect for the task.
