hey look a fun history lesson!
I use firefox with ublock too and i second this.
And by the same i mean totally different, and i just wanted to share xD
My path is kinda the same.
I used to have two sonas, a dragon and a hedgehog/bear
At one point i felt like a change so my dragon became a kobold, and my hedgebear became a numou.
A few years later i mixed them up, and changed my colors, but i did keep the ears and stature. xD
I don't often join this babyfur discourse, because I like to keep my opinions to myself (shocking concept, I know), but seeing as how this is going around again, I'd like to share some facts with you I've picked up over the many cycles I've seen of this particular discourse. -Fantasy isn't a literal wish. -Characters are objects, and do not have rights. -Consenting adults can do whatever they like within law and reason. -Not all content you can see was made for you specifically to consume. -Harassment of a real person because of what they enjoy in fiction is never justified. -Artistic depictions are not proof of crimes, only real actions with real proof are. -Fictional victims are proselytized while real victims are ignored. There are many forms this discourse has taken over the years, but it's still all somewhat related to "sexualizing X is bad" like feral and cub, and nowadays, babyfurs. Two things: 1) What you're seeing isn't real, it's a work of fiction. 2) It's not inherently a sexual thing. It's as often a coping mechanism for people than not. And even if it was sexual, again, it's not real. If you don't like it, then you've got a wonderful ability to just.. close your browser? Just stop looking at it? Do literally anything other than interact with it? Because that clearly wasn't created with you as the target audience.
The excuse that's always given is the exaggerated concern that "If you like it in fiction, you might want to try the real thing!". To which my reply will always be me shouting this: "The line between fiction and reality is quite clear. If you think it's so easy to cross that line, YOU are the one who can't tell the difference between fiction and reality!" By that logic, if you like the GTA games, you must be an aggressive psychopath who wants to kill everyone and steal cars. If you like D&D, you must worship the devil. Expanded to characters, if you like Darth Vader, you must be a child murderer because Anakin kills the younglings. Protecting children is fine, and anyone who would harm a child deserves to suffer. But to tear down the entirety of the furry fandom over any kink doesn't protect children. It just harms adults. Kinks are an inherently adult subject, and in an ideal world, there would be no means for a child to participate or interact with kinks alongside adults. We do not live in this world. But that doesn't mean the values of that ideology are immediately invalidated. We can do our part each day by not involving children ourselves. Pretty easy to do, all things considered.
There will always be bad actors who should be held accountable for their atrocious actions. My heart goes out to those who have had the unspeakable happen to them in their youth. I grieve for them, and the pain they've endured. No one should ever be subjected to such horrors, and I understand completely if accidentally being subjected to something that resembles your trauma is a trigger. But this discourse isn't about that. IMO it invalidates those with real trauma in the most insulting of ways. In the cases brought forth by the puritans of the fandom, the crimes they are insinuating are not actually happening, only people "thinking" about them via fiction. There's another word for this: Thoughtcrimes. The puritans want to punish people for thoughtcrimes. So imaginary crimes are being performed on imaginary victims, meanwhile real victims are still here and are more or less invisible. So the fictional characters get "more justice" than real victims. And then these puritans create yet more victims by harassing innocent people who have done nothing wrong other than the Thoughtcrime theyβve decided these innocents have committed. Kinks are more than just their surface level perceptions. They're a vitally important concept in society in ways that not a lot of people recognize. For starters, it's genuine freedom of expression. True freedom, being or doing whatever you like in a world where the consequences are controllable. That's not something you can get anywhere else in our increasingly advertised and corporatized landscape. Kink is the last thing that corporations cannot steal from us. To sanitize kink is to give over the last bastion of freedom that we, as adults, have left in this world. And for me, that's a hill worth dying on.

Avatar luulapants 1d If you're in the US, now is a great time to talk to the young people in your life about the US military:
The recruiter is not your friend. The military employs child psychologists to learn how to make you think the recruiter is your friend. The recruiter is allowed to lie to you and makes more money if they do. The recruiter is paid a commission to groom children into cannon fodder. The recruiter will tell you you're special and will go into special smart soldier programs instead of combat. They're lying. The recruiter may tell you they can tell if someone can get PTSD or not and only recruit people like you, who won't. They're lying. The recruiter may tell you you'll be too busy attending free college (!!) to go overseas. They're lying. The recruiter may ask what countries you want to travel to and promise you bougie placements on military bases in those countries. They're lying.
Even "It's just four years!" is a lie - the government is allowed to hold you past your enlistment period with a stop-loss order. The recruiter actually has zero power to decide anything that happens to you after you enlist and they more importantly don't care what happens to you. If you enlist, you will be brainwashed to make you willing to do things to other humans that you would never be willing to do today. You will be ordered to do things that will kill children. And you'll do them. The military is not the only way or even the best way for you to go to college or start a career.
Military brainwashing will actually make you into a terrible university student because it degrades your ability to think critically and question your sources. Having PTSD and/or a TBI will make it harder to be a student and keep a job. Veterans' benefits suck these days. Being a veteran drastically increases your risk of homelessness, suicide, alcohol and drug dependence, prison time, and becoming an abuser to your loved ones. The military will expose you to chemicals that will drastically increase your chances of developing cancer. The military will withhold information about your rights to conscientiously object after enlisting. A lot can change in four years.
If you need a reason not to enlist, there's many.
