Scots cancer scientists make fresh discovery that could aid treatment The discovery could tackle some of the hard-to-treat cancers.

A key mystery in cancer research is that the disease occurs in certain parts of the body and not others - find out what Glasgow scientists @uofgnews.bsky.social @cruk-si.bsky.social discovered when they asked why πŸ‘‡πŸ₯Ό

It'sπŸŽ„so time to look back at the incredible work of CRUK researchers. In the summer Dr Kevin Myant @uoe-igc.bsky.social discovered bowel cancer cells "shapeshift" to make them tougher and better able to spread. This will help find new treatments for cancer @cancerresearchuk.org #FrontierResearch

Fascinating research from Dr Kevin Myant's team funded by Cancer Research UK has discovered bowel cancer cells can mimic skin cells to allow them to spread around the body - hopefully this can help find a way to stop this "shapeshifting" and prevent metastasis when cancer becomes harder to treat!
