Even those outside Minnesota should already know about Maddyn Greenway, the daughter of former Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway, and how she's carved her name into state's record books.
If you don't, get acquainted:
Vikings re-signing long snapper Andrew DePaola to a reported one-year, $1.725 million deal. He's back for a seventh season in Minnesota.
My understanding is there was internal frustration and eventual regret by KAM about not doing enough to address QB2 before that point. Once we saw KOC and Howell on the field together in practices, it wasn't going well.
Vikings free agency
Incoming: CB James Pierre (PIT)
Outgoing: WR Jalen Nailor (LVR), P Ryan Wright (NO)
Free agents: QB Carson Wentz, CB Jeff Okudah, RB Ty Chandler, LS Andrew DePaola, OT Justin Skule
FA fits: OL Elgton Jenkins (GB), S Nick Cross (IND), RB Rachaad White (TB), DL Logan Hall (TB)
Vikings add James Pierre, but lose Jalen Nailor and Ryan Wright
Money definitely suggests a depth and special teams role, although the No. 3 corner job can be a big role if that player covers well.

This is the second year in which the Vikings received the NFL's top comp pick. They turned last year's No. 97 into a trade down to 102 and receiver Tai Felton. The five-spot drop allowed them to jump 45 spots later in the draft, from where ex-GM Adofo-Mensah flipped the pick for QB Sam Howell.
The Vikings received one compensatory draft pick, the top one in the third round (No. 97 overall), the NFL announced.

From our live blog on Vikings free agency: www.startribune.com/minnesota-vi...
Vikings agreed to terms with former Steelers CB James Pierre, who will follow new DBs coach Gerald Alexander from Pittsburgh to Minnesota. It's a two-year deal for Pierre worth up to $8.5 million, his agent Toney Scott confirms.
Pierce only needed 3 minutes to test the market! Incredible efficiency.
Wouldn't be shocked if the Vikings try to get ahead of that ascension with a contract extension before he plays again. Either way, their aim would be to get him at a bargain for where they think he's headed. Redmond is now eligible as an undrafted player with two accrued seasons.
In his first season as a starter, Vikings DL Jalen Redmond finished with the most QB pressures (35, per PFF) by an interior pass rusher during Flores' three seasons in Minnesota
Ascending and a much-needed bargain (1yr, $1.075m) for the Vikings next year as an exclusive rights free agent
The Vikings also agreed to keep Ivan Pace Jr. on an original-round RFA tender (1yr/$3.5m), a source confirmed. Pace can still negotiate with other teams before signing. The Vikings get the right to match an offer he wants.
From our story last August: βHeβs a free spirit,β Anthony Barr said. βGuy is like a living Tarzan. I remember we had a potluck one time. Guys brought burgers, dogs, steaks. He brought a bag of fruit and everyone was like, βWhat?β"

From @bengoessling.bsky.social last night: Vikings agree to three-year extension with linebacker Eric Wilson
This is Wilson's fourth, and most lucrative, contract with the Vikings at age 31 www.startribune.com/vikings-agre...
After signing a one-year deal to return to Minnesota and setting career highs in sacks and fumbles, Eric Wilson has a new three-year deal with the #Vikings, a source confirmed. Per NFL Network, the new deal has a max value of $22.5 million.

Vikings center Ryan Kelly announces his retirement after 129 starts in 10 seasons. Three concussions limited Kelly's only season in Minnesota to eight games, and just four full games with J.J. McCarthy
Source confirms the #Vikings will restructure the contracts of Justin Jefferson and Christian Darrisaw. They can defer as much as $18 million with a signing bonus conversion on Jefferson's deal, while clearing as much as $9.2 million on Darrisaw's contract.

The Vikings (two GMs ago) got the last favor Hunter will ever do for a NFL front office, and it directly helped the franchise win its last playoff game in 2019.
Danielle Hunter's latest 1-year deal for over $40 million is another example of the former Viking maximizing every dollar after he feared for his career with the 2020 neck injury. He talked about regret with his initial extension, saying it was the move of a young guy not knowing the business.
The Vikings may cut both Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave to gain cap space before free agency next week. Here's a look at where they stand at defensive tackle, and which FAs could be fits: www.startribune.com/minnesota-vi...
