How it started. How it's going.
I believe this will the the only time in my life in which I make this much Christmas cake
I had an idea for a present for a work colleague who doesn't have alcohol and therefore had never had Christmas cake.
It ended with me marzipanning and icing 7 cakes.
Easing into the Christmas jumpers today at Fidget and Bob cafe after being out 'politicing' on Kennet Island...

These beauties are going to make lovely (Ukrainian) Sloe Vodka for Christmas...
I'm hand stitching as a way of keeping from fidgeting or phone scrolling so its slow work but I'm about half way through creating the squared and sewing them together.
I'll hopefully be adding more in the coming months...
A finished square looks like this
Step 2 is to put squares together with yellow in the middle, reds on two sides and blues on the others.
I've been putting of documenting this until I was more confidentvi might actually finish... I'm working on a 'memory quilt' for one of my children with the idea of it being ready for her 16th.
First step is gathering fabric from old clothing, found scraps etc and cutting into strips

We have a street party today and my job is to provide 'milk bottle flower arrangements'. Was worried all my usual flowers had finished but happy with the result in the end...
Bowl of red cherries
This year again our cherry tree has kept on giving (our cunning use of a net has reduced the birds' ability to sneak in when we're not looking).
Almost the last of the harvest today...
Normal service (pics of plants!) to resumed shortly but so happy to share ive been reselected as the candidate for Whitley Labour next spring. I've loved serving the community since 2010 and I'm looking forward to the campaign
