Screenshot of "COI Fetches" which fetches COI sequences from GenBank and puts it all into a FASTA file and also tags the location of each item.

In #popgen, I have students work with short DNA barcodes. They hate having to fetch them from GenBank using the "front door" and none of them code. So, I created a GUI that retrieves COI data for any species and compiles it into FASTA file. I'll be hosting the installer on my github account.

Panel of data figures to illustrate comparative analysis of sex-specific gene expression evolution at inter-species comparison level in male and female house mice, including transcriptomic distance analysis and gene differentiation expression analysis. By analyzing extensive RNA-seq data from the house mouse complex across multiple organs and subspecies, this study reveals that male reproductive organs, especially the testis, show accelerated expression divergence. Testicular long non-coding RNAs evolve most rapidly, with differences arising within just thousands of years. In contrast, somatic tissues and female reproductive organs show minimal sex-specific evolutionary dynamics.
