First meta-analysis finds long COVID symptoms differ by variant. Omicron is more linked to brain fog and tingling, while earlier variants caused more shortness of breath and smell loss. Overall prevalence was about 29%, dropping to 23% with Omicron.
An unexpected benefit of taking a late-night train on a Saturday is that the coughing and the sneezing combined with the drunken roaring and predictably unpleasant sounds coming from the toilet is a powerful reminder that avoiding Covid and staying sober are wise life choices.
“This study highlights that post-COVID-19 condition remains a significant and evolving health concern, with post-COVID symptomatology observed beyond 6 months regardless of variant of concern.
Real talk: Progressives have completely failed to adequately address the significant impacts of Long COVID, and this has left an opening for the far right to exploit vulnerable patients and deceitfully blame vaccines for all chronic illnesses.
It staggers me how fast the vast majority of people - including medical professionals - have normalised infection with a virus that can cause cognitive dysfunction / anosmia. SARS-2 is definitively not 'just another respiratory virus', yet society is just shoehorning it in there.
BA.3.2 persists in Germany 🇩🇪 at low levels. At the same time, the frequency of NB.1.8.1 is increasing, paralleled by a decline in XFG frequency. #BA32
Here's my latest snapshots of BA.3.2.* for Europe (excluding the UK) and then the UK home countries. Certainly it's falling or flat in some places, but growing vigorously in others.
Is Denmark's data still considered the most reliable measurement (randomised community samples)?
BA.3.2 update ( by @josetteschoenma.bsky.social) now also Greece 4/14 in February, so it took a good share in southern Europe too. It remains very weird the apparent slowdown in Central Europe, maybe Denmark will tell something about the future trends

And now, BA.3.2 is mostly gone in Perth. It didn't do anything discernible in terms of absolute growth, it wasn't replaced by anything noteworthy. It had kind of a clinical specimen tropism. Most peculiar.

While in the Netherlands, it's stalling at very low absolute prevalence (7d incidence, symptomatic, at 100 as per infectieradar), after fulminant relative growth.
I presume that nobody currently understands the behavior.
En ven af Christine Stabell Benn og Tracy Beth Høeg. Levi har også valgt førstnævnte som en af de eksterne rådgivere i kampen mod COVID-19 mRNA-vaccinerne. Det har hun ikke overraskende sagt ja til.
"The pandemic has been deliberately erased from public consciousness by the political establishment, even as the virus continues to spread, disable and kill on a mass scale..Today, the COVID-19 pandemic remains a serious and..ongoing threat whose cumulative toll grows with each passing week."
"The researchers are “deeply, deeply connected in Guinea-Bissau,” said Magda Robalo..They are embedded in the system..Bandim “is the government”, one source told the Stand Up for Science investigator. The Guinea-Bissau ethics committee is seen as “a friends club”, the investigator found."
The whole story behind the proposed CDC funded Hepatitis B vaccine trial in Guinea-Bissau from the Bandim Project continues to unfold.
What is described, frankly, are shocking “research” practices far outside normal ethical norms or conduct.

"Det et er forkert at bruge Norge som skræmmebillede på, hvordan en formueskat fører til masseudflytning af økonomisk ressourcestærke borgere til skade for vækst, investeringer og jobskabelse samt økonomiske ulykker."

Det var jo egentlig også det at der var tanken med formueskatten, konsekvent flere penge til hele samfundet…
You only have one brain. Protect it by not getting Covid!

Closely following BA.3.2 here. It is still unclear what trajectory it will take.
If BA.3.2 fades out - are there any obvious candidates that could challenge NB.1.8.1 and XFG in the near term?

Screenshot of a news article from The Post titled “Repeatedly getting Covid doesn’t build immunity, ‘it’s more like accumulating damage’,” written by Melanie Earley of RNZ and dated March 10, 2026. Below the headline is a portrait of leading vaccinologist and associate professor Dr Helen Petousis-Harris, shown facing the camera against a dark background. The article discusses how repeated COVID-19 infections may cause cumulative harm rather than building lasting immunity.
"Leading vaccinologist Helen Petousis-Harris says there's not enough awareness of the impact of COVID-19 on overall health."
"What many people don't realise is that getting COVID repeatedly is not like building immunity, it's more like accumulating damage," she says.

Just a reminder that everyone is entitled to wear a mask, and it is no one's business as to why you do. No one gets to decide for you that you need to explain or justify your reasons.
I suspect that if they are not wearing one themselves, they will not understand your reasons, anyway.

Allowing workers to stay home when sick pays off in the long run!
- Workers who report going to work while sick, a phenomenon known as presenteeism, may be more likely to miss work due to illness in the future
