Absolutely!! And it’s always bothered me that Demetrius is only marrying Helena at the end because he’s still enchanted, which seems to leave some pretty big consent issues. Definitely not a cute little comedy

Yes, I mean this isn‘t my specialist field but I didn’t think prehistoric humans were weaving/tailoring fine cloth & making money pouches quite that early either
The top line story this week is the proposed nationwide book ban. Read it, understand where and how it emerged from local and state legislation and policy, and then take action by spreading the word and contacting your reps.

Please read this article to the end. Even before ICE got involved, this started because this *blind man who speaks no English and uses a curtain rod as a walking stick* got lost on a walk and some Karen called the police on him and they tasered and beat him bc he didn’t drop the rod. WTF
"If AI can go to school for you whats the point of going to school"
SO YOU YOURSELF, THE HUMAN IN THIS EQUATION, CAN LEARN TO SAY AND DO THINGS, THATS WHY
So you learn not to say ridiculous things like this, so you learn to think critically about the world and not believe the crap that AIbros sell.
Really glad I could help! ☺️
There should still be a way to switch off all auto-correct if that’s a help at all, I think it’s under Settings>General>Keyboard>Auto-Correction
If it’s the predictive text that’s giving the problem, that can also be switched off in Keyboard settings

Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...
This is easily the most joyful & heartening thing I‘ve seen on social media tonight: your dog sounds adorable!!
Happy publication day to "Dance and Sociability in the Long Eighteenth Century"! So many thanks to Bloomsbury and all of the contributing authors who worked with Mark, Ian, and me to bring this volume together! We could not have done it without you! #dancehistory #18thcentury

The little green house is adorable, but alas my crochet skills have as yet progressed no further than granny squares & simple coasters
A Minneapolis knitting shop has resurrected the design of a Norwegian cap worn to protest Nazi occupation. Its owner says the money raised from hat pattern sales will support the local immigrant community. n.pr/4thWiUr
My sense is it was primarily a perfume, but Jennifer Potter’s book The Rose also mentions use in cleaning garments and removing/masking armpit odour; think it may have also been used in some cosmetics, but @katieaske.bsky.social would know far more about this
AI is killing the arts, academia, literature, music, photography, film and the internet. I wholeheartedly detest it.
The headlines in this article in the Economist (UK) are great—better than almost any newspaper in the US
A German soccer federation executive committee member says it's time to consider a World Cup boycott because of the actions of U.S. President Donald Trump.
picture of Alex Pretti
Alex Pretti was an ICU nurse serving veterans. He died trying to protect protestors being assaulted. A group of anonymous & masked men fired chemicals into his face, beat him, disarmed him, and shot him in broad daylight in front of witnesses. Then his government smeared him & defended his murder.
We have made the decision to formally close our X social media account. Once a vibrant platform to promote the interests of authors, we feel X is no longer a trusted place for balance, community support, and reliable information.
I just chaired a discussion for BBC radio on The Last of the Mohicans, Indigenous futurities, and US settler colonialism with some awesome people, including academics and Indigenous authors, that should drop soon. Stay tuned! Related to this adaptation, which I advised in its early development.
We're calling for submissions to the Black Archive from disabled authors and authors of colour, who we know have been underrepresented in the range.
Please spread this as widely as you can, as we want it to reach as many eligible authors as possible. Thank you.

I’m not an expert, but that doesn’t even look like real marble (the cut edges are too precise)
Which somehow makes the whole thing even more excruciating
Issa Rae has canceled her sold out performance at the Kennedy Center. Pulitzer Prize winner Rhiannon Giddens, Peter Wolf, Low Cut Connie, and the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, D.C., have also canceled. Lin-Manuel Miranda has canceled the entire Kennedy Center run of Hamilton.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has stated that the 1918 flu pandemic was caused by a lab virus from vaccine research, a defective influenza vaccine. Let’s analyze what a lie this is. First, in 1918, 107 years ago, virology was in its infancy
