My first thought was the Steffen injury as well, but I like your other ideas better π

Agree. A loss at NYC isnβt bad, unless itβs a blowout and the team looks like they did in Seattle. A win at SKC is a must; losing there would say way more than any win. Toronto beat Cincinnati and I expect Djordje will be playing with a little extra something (plus Sargent will be more acclimated).
Clearly this team is improved over 2025, but how high should the vibes actually be? Theyβve won two home games where they played a man up against mid teams. Feel like we need a result in the next 3 games before I can allow myself to feel joy π
Tommy scoops repping the pids, you love to see it.
So many questions about this. Which org got tired of the other? What about the 2 affiliates in NM and SD that currently use the rapids name and branding? Will the new youth org still have access the DSGP for training space and tournaments?
Agree, this makes no business sense for the rapids.
Ah, I assumed they hadnβt been directly involved in CSA for awhile. The move just feels odd for the pro club. I would think having your name on 10k youth kits traveling all over the state and country is good branding, but maybe CRYSC just wants a change and itβs not that deep π
I believe everything up to and including their elite programming (EA/ECNL/etc). This is what I saw:
βBeginning this fall, our organization is returning to our roots in Colorado youth soccer. We will transition from competing as Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club (CRYSC) to Colorado Stormβ
Hey @braidonnourse.bsky.social @burgundywave.bsky.social , tomorrow rapids youth are announcing their rebrand back to Storm, and ending their partnership with Rapids. Not sure if this is related to the potential club rebrand, but would be curious to hear what the FO has to say at the next presser π
Looks like the rumors of #Rapids96 cutting ties with their youth org are indeed true
Very nice summary of the USL issues for someone like myself who doesnβt follow as closely.
Iβm curious what this means for players on loan? For a player like Beaudry can he be loaned to R2 (or maybe even overseas) during a strike or is he stuck waiting?
It was def bizarre and only really matters because it nearly came back to bite them. Initially that last sub was only 2 players. Only once Travis got hurt did Wells call for Keegan at the last moment. They came really close to finishing either with 10 players or a hobbled LB, and it was avoidable.
It was already two separate subs though. Yapi comes in for Harris in the 57β and Frederick wasnβt ready until the 59β, at which point he got delayed due to Hamzat taking his time.
I wanted to hear the answer to the question π seemed odd at the time to burn a substitution window with 2 subs that close together
Lucas was great. After he scored I told my kids βdonβt get attached to him, he wonβt be a Rapid for longβ π
Didnβt the roster breakdown list Fadal as loaned out? π€¨
Theyβve been a staple at the Stanley marketplace forever, very cool to see them getting this opportunity.
Expected the headline to read βDenver mandates foot shaped gas pedals on all carsβ
- player he hated defending the most
- weirdest locker room tradition he ever witnessed
- best away day experience
- thoughts on rapids parting ways with so many home growns, and who are the next academy players he thinks could eventually make the first team
Happy concacaf champions league snowpocalypse anniversary to all who celebrate
Just watched the presser. One of the most honest assessments Iβve ever seen from a coach, especially at this club. Actually makes me feel better about the result. Nobody is safe, playing time is earned and is evaluated week to week. I donβt recall ever hearing this from Armas or Fraser.
Another lopsided Lumen lashing
I think he heard the pod π
Poor defending. Wells clearly wants to play out from deep but the team doesnβt look ready for it. No creativity until the final 10 minutes. Bright spots were the subs coming on and actually playing like they cared.
Alex Harris too
Love Mack and will be thrilled when he and the boys are back with the Avs, but he and McDavid came up short. US earned every bit of that gold.
Those teddy bears will probably ease the pain for team Canada π
I was already cutting onions but the Gaudreau jersey absolutely sent me π
Disappointed that Matt Wells turtleneck is not included in the collection
