The most fun Iβve had all week is buying books when Iβve got SHELVES of unread ones. Sometimes you just want to feel something, ya know?
28 Years Later: The Bone Temple wasβ¦wow. I was locked in the whole time. The performances were phenomenal. While smaller in scale than the previous film, it still managed to make its mark on the series and I CAN NOT WAIT until the next one.
I donβt recognize this country anymore.
Itβs like we didnβt all have to study World War II. Iβve never seen true evil at this scale before. Iβm not naive; I know itβs always been there but now itβs running things and I dont know who the helpers are.
I just walked through a parking lot and got into the passenger side of my car. Took me a few seconds to realize thatβs not where I sit.
Thatβs the kind of year itβs been.
Happy holidays.
the cover of No Gods for Drowning by Hailey Piper, art by Anna Chiara Stagi, showing a woman prostrating before a nine-pointed star. Under the title it says "God forbid a woman do anything"
So when the gods accept human sacrifice, it's fine, but when they leave and a woman takes matters into her own hands (& knife) to call them back, suddenly it's a problem π

The Toxic Avenger was a campy gory good time! Itβs like an action-horror-comedy that takes itself just the right amount of serious. Gimme more!

#Superman was really good. @jamesgunn.bsky.social doesnβt miss. Different refreshing take and a great setup for the DCU. The cast was fantastic and I canβt wait for more.

I think if you liked Talk To Me youβll like this too. The story is tighter and I cared about the characters a little more. It worked as an observation of grief more than a mystery and Iβm not totally sure I expected that.

Final Destination Bloodlines was everything I want in a Final Destination movie; mousetrap-style ridiculous deaths mixed with some dark humor. Thereβs also a very touching scene with Tony Todd (whom the move was dedicated to).
If you liked the others, you wonβt be disappointed with this one.
I 100% agree with this take.

About that announcement... Many thanks to @badhandbooks.bsky.social / Doug Murano for taking these on and giving them a home. Third time's a charm, right? Solve et coagula! π€
Iβm surprised how well they all hold up. The fourth one was REALLY pushing that 3D though and was a tad forgettable. I liked the new rules that got added along the way. Also, my fault for waiting, but I wish the ending of 5 didnβt get spoiled.
In preparation for Final Destination Bloodlines this week, I marathoned the first five.
Hereβs my ranking:
1. Final Destination
2. Final Destination 2
3. Final Destination 3
4. Final Destination 5 (my first time seeing it)
5. The Final Destination
As someone thatβs read CLOWN IN A CORNFIELD, I had to see the movie and I wasnβt disappointed. The kills are good, the humor landed, and the cast was great. Go check it out!
By the moonβs eye, I want to wish @toddkeisling.comβs THE SUNDOWNERβS DANCE a very neighborly book birthday!!
