I have written to my Tory MP rather a lot. I only ever get a reply on subjects where their minions can do a cut and paste job which in most cases doesn't address the points I made and is usually why the government is right and I am not!!

My maternal grandfather fought in WW1 and spent some of the war recovering from an injury. He never, ever spoke of his experience. Paternal grandfather didn't fight in WW1 on health grounds (I think he had TB). I don't know what he did then but was air raid warden in WW2 & lived to be 100. I am old!
Absolutely this - and if you are on your own write down anything you might need to refer to later. On a first appointment it is easy to be overwhelmed by what you are being told. Hope it all goes well

Just stumbled across this amazing gallery on Flickr showing the process of revising the Ordnance Survey, but also a series of snapshots of Swindon in 1953/4 with relics of the War, prefabs (lots of prefabs), bins, new housing - which @municipaldreams.bsky.social will enjoy - and much else.
Interesting. Our favourite coffee shop changed hands a couple of years ago - the sisters had been running it for nearly 50 years. I asked OH whether he went there for coffee in the early '70's and he said he did. I also had a coffee filter machine which I think I got in the late '70's!

Went through similar a couple of weeks ago (as I am also old). Rest up and drink plenty of fluids - I wasn't advised this, but apparently it helps. Hope it all passes soon
