It may seem trivial to many, but Harry Styles brings such joy, kindness, light, and love to this world. Letβs all be even a little like Harry Styles when we interact with each other. Let love win.
Saw 54 π - the most Iβve ever seen there.
Trying to add photos to @flashes.blue but it keeps crashing, so trying one at a time. It crashes when adding alt text, so no alt text here. Went on a π΄πΌ in the #Everglades / Shark π¦ Valley (where there are no sharks) on a new Specialized Allez. It was a great ride!
Is there something wrong with @flashes.blue ?? Every time I start adding alt text, it closes. I have deleted it and reinstalled and same behavior.

Thatβs a broken country, if you ask me, and says to me we are at the precipice of some significant and irreversible upheaval.
An image of President Andrew Jackson tinted with red, a muted white, and blue. The words The Age of Jackson are at chin level and take up room from left to right. Below this wording in the left corner: American History Tellers and in the right corner, Wondery.
Just finished listen to this #podcast series on The Age of (Andrew) Jackson. Listen to it and letβs talk. There are some parallels to todayβs kultur politik which reaffirms that we are incapable of learning from history.

Variations on a corn plant I see regularly on walks in my neighborhood. Two of the images were edited using the #prequel app.

Seen on my walk #SOMW this house and grounds off of Sunset. Itβs super sensual and beautiful and tropical. And two variations using the #prequel app. #Miami #SoFl #kendall #winter
Normally, the train is where itβs at but thereβs 6 weeks (yeah right, Miami) of construction work on the station I typically go toβ¦but driving to/from campus is way worse. Good times. When can I retire?
A widescreen monitor is on a desk. The wallpaper for the monitor consists of exotic flowers. There are various items below the monitor such as cords, a small bottle of antibacterial gel, a stapler, a yellow highlighter or two, some empty post-it pads, and a coffee mug.
New widescreen monitor at work! That with a standing desk attachment is making having to be on campus more tolerable. Itβs really the βgetting to and fromβ campus that is a PITA.
A recent walk I took to blow off some steam. It only burned off a fraction of it but better than nothing!
Si te quieres divertir, con encanto y con primor, solo tienes que vivir un verano en Chicago
And they was supposed to say medical students not student students haha π€£

An empty train car in the morning. Very early. Busy week at work with multiple exams for our first year student students. οΏΌ
A book is held in the air by a hand. There is a blurred background of greenery and a parking lot. The book is titled The Chicago Way: An Oral History of Chicago Dining by Michael Gebert. The cover of the book has a marquee in lights in the left that spells out Restaurant in all caps. Above and below the title of the book are the four stars that appear on the Chicago city flag.
Just got my copy of @fooditorchi.bsky.social Michael Gebertβs new book The #Chicago Way: An Oral History of Chicago Dining. Cant wait to read it!
Hey, #Miami #Metrorail. This escalator has been broken for about 3-4 months now. Any idea when it will be repaired? No one seems to know anything. Maybe the @miamiherald.com can find out?
With Sinners getting so many noms for an Oscar, Iβm def watching them this year. Amazing movie.
Today, @wikipedia.org turns 25 years old. It's never been more important β or under more attack from authoritarians. Here's what to know about how we got here, and what we can do to push for its future. There's no better example of the web we make together. www.anildash.com/2026/01/15/w...
Iβm going back to the 1970s to get actualized and realized. *est
Thanks for the tip! I was never a big Twitter user, so I donβt post a lot here. I do like Flashes @flashes.blue as an alt to Meta.
I have become quite disillusioned with Bluesky. I hardly post or reply to anyoneβs posts because Iβve been harassed for my comments. And by people who left Schitter for that exact same behavior! It sucks.
Make America Healthy Again but you have to pay a lot more for insurance and healthy food. Good luck. π
Hey look, it's my nightmare:

Kinda jealous! The weather in #Miami is quite delightful rn, ngl, but Iβd love to be in #Chicago.
Thatβs how I did it in winter when I lived in Chicago.
A couple days ago, I was honored to join so many others in celebrating @marksking.bsky.social for his big 65th birthday bash online! Mark is an amazing HIV/AIDS activist. It gave me a lot to think about as I just passed 30 years since I received my own diagnosis. Happy Birthday, Mark!!
