How the logic of collateral damage demands human sacrifice
Implicit in the idea of “collateral damage" is the assumption that some people are expendable—not just in war, but in everyday life.
In crisis times, the most vulnerable suffer the most. The poorest and the most marginalized groups are left for dead. The term "collateral damage" is used to explain away these losses. Implicit in the idea is the assumption that some people are expendable—not just in war, but in everyday life.

Mike Johnson is also an Islamophobic bigot. There is no way that someone like him ever should have become Speaker of the House. There is no way that someone like him should even be serving in Congress.

So this is a good reminder that:
-Elections are not yes/no referenda -- may be a choice between two disliked (or liked) options
-Many Dems are dissatisfied w/ party as a whole, still voting for D candidates
-Special election electorate != all registered voters

The worst cabinet in American history
And it's not even close.
A cabinet with one or two catastrophic picks like Noem, Hegseth, RFK, or Bondi would be among the worst in American history. All of them at the same time? Unlike anything we've ever seen.

Failing to mention that in the first 40 minutes of his "little excursion," a U.S. Tomahawk missile fired at a school killed 170 girls aged 7 to 12.

As a higher ed worker I the state I wondered why all of a sudden we didn’t care about student choice and, over night, “job readiness” became our reason d’etre.
Now I know it’s the basically the standard corruption story.
Fools so many are to pretend that it all is on the level.

Trump is not the unfortunate victim of job “losses”; he is destroying jobs, especially manufacturing jobs. And in savaging medical and scientific grants and going to war with universities, Trump is further undercutting one of America’s greatest sources of long-term growth and productivity

Indiana Governor Signs Bill to End Low-Earning Degrees
Indiana’s governor has signed into law a bill that aims to eliminate all academic programs at the state’s public universities and at Ivy Tech Community College that fail a new federal earnings test.
This is what you get when a state views higher ed as vocational tech. This same mentality has always dominated in my home state of Ohio too. The worth of degrees isn't based on how much money you make.
