Reminiscing last year’s @ceeisa.bsky.social doctoral network writing retreat, organised by @ajdah.bsky.social and @melikamah.bsky.social
What a reTREAT. Every young scholar should have access to such caring spaces

Anyone wants to invite me to a peaceful island to focus on my writing this year? 🏝️

Grateful for the brilliant team we got to build, and for all who came as keynote speakers, discussants, or fellow doctoral students. You all made it meaningful. I’m walking away lots of hope for the kinds of generative, open-hearted spaces we can build together.

What made it special is that we gathered not by field, but by stage. Early-career researchers across disciplines, sharing generously. It sparked real exchangeβ€”curious, open, and unpolished in the best way. We really curated a space for connecting ideas, not just for networking and presentations.

That’s a wrap on @weareceu.bsky.social 20th Annual Doctoral Conferenceβ€”3 days of ideas flying, disciplines mixing, and conversations that kept going long after the sessions ended. Co-organizing it was a wild and rewarding dive into how academic spaces come to life.

What’s New About Woke Racial Capitalism (and What Isn’t) – Spectre Journal OlΓΊfẹ́mi O. TÑíwΓ² and Enzo Rossi explain how "woke" racial capitalism reveals contradictory tendencies in the material structure of capitalism and its ideological superstructure.

"Rejecting identitarianism...means abandoning the neoliberal dream of impeccably multicolored boardrooms. But it does not mean retreating into a tone-deaf class-only politics."

Looking forward for our next engagement this upcoming March. Consisting on workshops designed with Narrativas y Memorias to bring to life spaces to imagine and elaborate an illustrated dictionary of the search. Mostly funded by the generosity of the @csp-journal.bsky.social Solidarity Fund.

First post on Bluesky is dedicated to my recent first β€˜fieldwork’ encounters with groups of *Buscadoras* in Mexico, during October and November 2024.
The result was some sort of hybrid between activist-ethnography, arts-based research, and really just cultivating new friendships.
