This is actually quite good on its own terms.

And insanely good for AI…

What’s going to happen in 5 years from now?

Exactly this - happens to me regularly. It’s the most annoying thing for me when I’m cycling. Many car drivers seem unaware that they don’t have to overtake straight away.

And if you’re coming up to a red light or slow traffic, there is no need to overtake a cyclist just to stop again 20 metres later.

Even when it’s safe, it’s often pointless. Better for everyone to wait a few seconds.

Chill out in the big heavy metal box ;)

"Bicycling has done more to emancipate women than anything else." — Susan B. Anthony, 1896.

Yet today, women only make up 40% of riders. This International Women’s Day, let’s push for ambitious and inclusive cycling policies that make our cities more equitable places for women and girls. #IWD

30 years as both a driver and a cyclist, and the biggest lesson I’ve learned is this:

Drivers do not have to overtake cyclists.

You can just wait behind them until it’s safe to pass.

Ive read that chat gpt is actually reasoning… it’s how it’s been designed to solve problems.

Is anyone else slightly unnerved (and impressed) by the way Chat GPT talks to itself when solving a problem ?

Very human “inner thoughts” vibe

My data point is 1: me.

To me it’s so obvious it’s much much safer.

But appreciate that’s just my lived experience and have no stats to back it up

These days I always cycle middle of the lane, or even further to the right of centre if parked cars. Not 100% safe but I believe much safer.

From what I see roughly 95% of cyclists are too near the edge of the road.

(I was car doored when I was 25… 23 years ago! Learned a lot from that crash)

Interesting framing which certainly makes you think :)

I’d suggest the first 4 posts related to “electrify everything” could be achieved via “energy abundance”… eg triple the size of elec generation and at many time of day the marginal cost of elec is zero…everyone switches to elec as it’s cheap

(I don't even know why I'm arguing about this... I quite like kelvin. Celsius just seems more of a human scale day to day I guess)

Why should it be kelvin ? 🤔

I like 0 = ice.

100 = boiling

Brilliant list, thanks for communicating it so clearly. Another huge thing is the circular economy. I love using examples like a council run swimming pool in Devon being heated by a data center (not AI). This reduces costs and emissions for both and everyone wins. These heat networks will only grow.
