i’ve given up on this website ever getting locked accounts so some days you might have to deal with my actual thoughts (which I’ll probably delete due to anxiety)

even though i miss it desperately. i don’t talk about it a lot, but i really loved my old job and i was damn good at it. i’d give anything to try again but i need to prioritize stability and the industry is just the furthest thing from it rn.

it sucks.

lrp - it’s another kind of heartbreaking to land your dream job in gaming only to be forced back into the normal workforce due to things outside of your control. anytime i even think about trying again, i see yet another post about mass layoffs and go “nevermind”

The constant stream of layoffs in the games industry has calamitous effects that extend well beyond people being out of work; they extend beyond the loss of institutional knowledge; these layoffs will drive away talent from the industry while also discouraging new talent from pursuing the field.
