Macrophytes & wetland plants exploration with Dr. Donna Vogler!
Canoeing and identifying different plants was so much fun!
I think I found native Myriophyllum sibiricum (maybe?)
Nitella flexilis!!
The last recorded observation was in 2012, and a 2021 study couldn’t find any.
So I’m happy to know they’re still present in Otsego Lake!
We only found it once at a single site during our sampling though.
My beautiful macrophytes station at the BFS Open House today! I really enjoyed sharing what we discovered through our macrophyte survey with everyone, from adults to kids!
