As you use AI to simplify easy yet mundane tasks, like writing emails, you get increasingly dependent on it.
You get lazy, less skilled, use your brain less, and (you may not want to hear this) get stupider as a result.
Don’t let them take away your ability to think. Stop using it. Now.
A cartoon by Ron Cobb (1975), showing a shadow of US B-52 bomber above cratered landscape. Two people who look like Vietnamese peasants look up; one says “they’re having problems with their economy again.”
This is from 1975.
Perhaps not useful for all Pika Peeps, but for those that need it, you can now generate a table of contents in your posts and pages.

📺 Watched “Wonder Man” on Disney Plus. More of a character-driven show than a superhero show, but I liked it.

Said it before, and I’ll say it again, but for people like me, this would be transformative - it would stabilise our incomes, and allow us to plough more time into creative work and less into stuff anyone could be doing.
AND it’s a net economic benefit to the country.

Network of webrings visualized as a subway map
I've been working on a network of webrings to connect people's hobby sites! I have multiple lines that I visualize as subway lines, so I call it the Smallweb Subway!
Every station is someone's website. You can explore it here:

BREAKING: Bernie Sanders is introducing an amendment to cut ICE’s $75 billion funding increase, and to use those funds to restore the federal cuts to health care.
The cover of the winter issue of the Carrier Pigeon Quarterly. It's printed in shades of blue and features a bunch of pigeons at a Christmas party. A melted snowman sits in a bowl. A palm tree is decorated instead of a Christmas tree and a crab has climbed it to install the star. A Bigfoot is peeking in through the window, only seen by a startled opossum. A rat dressed like Santa dangles from the ceiling by a rope. He says "I think I'm stuck."
The inside cover of the issue with the first page of my fall zine and comix haul.
A close-up of a page detailing how to make a Turkish map fold zine.
Two pages: one with a Q&A and one discussing zine and comix festivals.
Finally finished up the winter issue of the Carrier Pigeon Quarterly, my zine about others zines and comix. On top of the usual reviews and miscellany, this issue features my adventures in tabling at 9 fests across the country. #zine #zines #comix

A pamphlet titled "A Burnt Grass Dispatch Vol. 6 - "Communist Monopoly" & Playing Authoritarian "Games." The cover depicts a Stalin-esque Mr. Monopoly, dressed like a soviet general. Behind him is a wall of jailed inmates.
The inside of the pamphlet. It shows a close-up of the text and a picture of a typical Monopoly board.
Wrote a short essay about a weird boardgame and what it can teach us about trying to comply with authoritarian "rules" and life during Trump's second term.

Pocket Thoughts Annual is a great way to see work from lots of creators, all in one issue! (Also, I have a page in this. 😃)
He was doing what many have been saying white men should be doing. He went outside to observe, he documented, he put his body on the line to protect another person and for this he was murdered by the gatekeepers of the fascist regime.
You could actually structure your moral code around the idea that law enforcement doesn't exist to execute people. You don't have to create perfect victim narratives, you can just refuse to accept that the state gets to kill people.
