Braiden Ward’s minor league profile—a high OBP with lots of stolen bases—looks somewhat similar to that of the Rays’ speedster Chandler Simpson. Given that skill set, it’s a bit surprising to me that Ward hasn’t yet made it onto a major league roster. (I know the lack of power is an issue.)

Doubs is a very productive WR with room for growth.
I would imagine this acquisition takes the Patriots out of the AJ. Brown trade talks with Philadelphia.
I hope the Pats keep a strong backup guard on the roster to help mitigate the risk of AVT going down again with another significant injury. He has only played 43 games in 5 years.

To be on the safe side, two proven lefty relievers, Justin Wilson (if not retiring) and Danny Coulombe, are still free agents. Either one could help solidify the #RedSox bullpen.

Brandin Cooks comes to mind as a memorable one-and-done player in New England. He had 1,082 yards receiving in his one season with the Patriots in 2017.
Today, Crochet exited the game against NY with 2 outs in the top of the 3rd with a runner on 1st.
Carlson immediately gave up a double and the inherited runner at first scored.
In my opinion (scoring rule change proposal), Carlson should have been charged with the run brought in from 1st.

My MLB scoring change proposal:
A pitcher shouldn’t be charged for a runner left on 1st base when he’s replaced. If that runner scores, the run should be charged to the reliever. Only inherited runners already in scoring position (2B or 3B) should be charged to the outgoing pitcher.
