I picked up sewing again! Iβve always been making things for work, but it feels nice to make something with my hands thatβs just for me
the targeting of any art that is "obscene" (terms of obscenity always to be decided at a whim) is fascistic yes but also how the only kinds of art that tends to be penalized is the individual/independent creators isn't lost on me. a patreon TOS would reject anything that can be streamed on netflix.
oh no the for you feed is doing dark/cynical vs uplifting/cozy media discourse again. none of it conductive to the making of anything cool I'm afraid; gotta put a bit of salt in your brownies & sugar in your curries etc this is like cooking 101
A digital illustration of a young androgynous person with white skin, red eyes, and curly white hair in a profile view. They are wearing a medieval outfit in a yellow and orange color scheme consisting of a tall, curving hood, a cape, a tunic, and leggings. Their left hand is outstretched in front of them and their right arm is behind their back. They are regarding a large berry with a mischievous face on it. Other berries without faces are included around the illustration. The background consists of teal leaves, stems, and a bird in the upper left corner. There is a gold border and gold stars and suns also in the background.
A traditional illustration, possibly from a Book of Hours c. 1400's. It depicts a small jester-like figure regarding large red berries while kneeling on one knee. He wears a yellow and orange outfit consisting of a hood, tunic, tights, and black shoes. He is surrounded by large foliage in a variety of colors, as well as a snail, rabbit, and bird. Black spindly shapes fill in much of the white background.
The scene depicts an avian creature crouching astride a man, talons pinning him in-place on the snow ladened ground. Surrounded by the corpses of birds. A rifle can be seen on the floor in the forground. A narrative digital piece as part of the comicbook Parliament of Rooks.
A Murder
for someone with a very stable relationship with my family I sure repeat this theme a lot across my daydream plotlines
rewatched Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham and told my fiancΓ© that its message of "having your parents in your life is the most important thing in the world" has always bothered me
and I theorized: "that might be because my OCs' core story is, hmm, how do I pose it..." (pause)
my fiancΓ©: "FUCK your parents?"
That is so sweet of you, you are absolutely right - I did in fact find lots of resources on tumblr, my internet home! π₯Ήπ

so... bad
Another thing about this particular AU: I've turned the plot into the basis for a fantasy love story inspired by my time spent on Crete, about matriarchy, ghost romance, the influences colonialism has on a culture, and, of course, vendetta. So basically an AU of an AU. πΆβπ«οΈ
The many westernized takes on Greek myths and H&P in particular had left me so unimpressed in 2013 that I decided to reclaim them through my own variations - it just so happened that the 1920s AU dominated the rest and took off!
Did you know that I have one historical Hades & Persephone AU named after every river of the Greek underworld? I draw the same characters in every time period - in this one they are star-crossed lovers from feuding families in Venetocracy-era Crete. π‘οΈππ #OCs #Styx (2018)
Giving my ocs childhood trauma and it affecting them when they have their own kids π
My mental health would be a lot better if I could just stop seeing parallels and understanding cycles
(conservative thinking about art) art would be better if artists were normal
hiii, limied slots are open :_3c any rts would be super helpful too vgen.co/EvaBeeSmith

I can and will use any opportunity in my STEM job to teach my residents some sort of art history fact
opening up 5 slots for character & illustration commissions again (samples shown below)
One can tell how long you've been drawing that hair and beard style, because you have truly mastered it from all perspectives imo???
