I do, that’s why I bought them. 😁

I thought that there would be more fans of Norstein’s animations in my circle. πŸ€”

Also a few pieces of storyboards from the wonderful β€œHedgehog in the fog” which came wrapped in a bow of twine. 😊

So very happy to have these pieces of signed art in my collection.

Norstein is able to put tiny lights behind the glass frames to create in-camera warm lighting and hand crafted effects.

The animated sequence seen here has a gorgeous scratchy timeless antique painting come to life vibe to it.

An early birthday treat… beautiful hand signed artworks by Stopmotion artist/film director Yuri Norstein.

β€œGoodnight Children” created by Norstein and Francheska Yarbusova.

I adore Norstein’s layered glass animations. Each moving part of every detail is hand painted onto small pieces of glass.

Went out last night to the nature reservoir to watch the astonishing Starling murmurations - a beautiful free show that nature puts on for us to witness.
Photos do not do justice to how amazing these liquid bird forms are as they fly as one collective.

Starling numbers fell by 57% since 1995.

Edit: not that I coined that term for the game I should add.

Definitely. But not something that I was enlightened enought to know about at that time in my world back then in Doncaster, we didn’t even have a book shop for some years. We made games super quick back then with no focus groups like today.
Not that I coined that term first the game I have to add. πŸ˜„

So had I until a year ago when I was reminded by a YouTuber! Back then I would work on about 3 games in any one year. The dev’ turn around was so quick, you were always onto the next thing. Totally different to today’s multi year dev’ times and costs. Crazy days.

My memory of it is rather vague. Someone reminded me of the game a year or so ago and I had forgotten all about it! πŸ˜† It was 35 years ago!!

It wasn’t the most progressive of games and was rather silly and of its era. No one expected this stuff to last pre-internet.

Retro games dev’ Sunday - found the pixel sprites online from the β€œMotΓΆrhead” game that I worked on for Virgin back in 1992! Art and design.

It was a different time back then! πŸ˜†πŸŽΈ

Oh yes, if you are a β€œPulp” fan there is a game that you can play at the exhibition - see if you can spot all the times that Jarvis Cocker pops up amongst the displays and artwork. It’s quite a lot!

I did buy a β€˜Boy with Apple fridge magnet’ from my favourite Anderson film β€œGrand Budapest Hotel”.
Alas, no Lady Panache perfume.

Favourite sections were the colourful retro costumes from β€œLife Aquatic” along with all the stop motion characters, creatures and models from β€œLife Aquatic”, β€œFantastic Mr Fox” and β€œIsle of Dogs.”

Had a fun day at the Wes Anderson Exhibition at the Design Museum. Lots of props, costumes, models and art on display.

Great to see β€œSinners” getting love during awards season. Best time I had at the cinema in 2025 - I came out of that film so pumped up with so many great moments, images and sounds replaying in my mind.

F*ck this Matt Gray reworking of the C64 SID chip β€œArkanoid” sounds amazing! Presses all my retro electro sonic buttons! Amazing back in the mid 1980s still sounds awesome today.

Crazy to think that I worked on games back in the 1980 with some of these guys when they worked up their original 8bit audio magic! 🎢🎹🎧

Oh boy, there are so many great SID chip-tune bangers on this old 2018 Retro Gamer CD!

Thalamusik is f*cking awesome (among many other highlights). πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ•ΉοΈ

Love the fact that my local riverside independent coffee shop indulges my David Lynch fetish by branding their cups as the patterning from the Black Lodge as seen on my lapel Twin Peaks pin badge! 😁
