To complete this miniseries: the tragic death of Chatterton, who seems to have gone throgh a storm of receiving ungentle letters while producing some shaky writing of his own at the same time. All of it had to be torn extra thoroughly here.

I have long been fascinated by paintings that depict the arrival of distressing letters; moments in which the world collapses for a young couple or family.
