Is swimming allowed? What a beautiful spot.

#Jolted back to the present,
I catch my breath,
and look around the store
to see I’m the last customer left.

On the fifth shelf,
third from the right,
sits the book I now hold
demanding my sight.

"Excuse me sir?"
A voice calls faintly,
I cannot place from where,

"Are you OK?"
A woman stands before me
with a concerning stare;

"Just to let you know,
we’re closing in 5 minutes."

There’s a case full of medals
from the second world war,
next to a grandfather clock
standing six feet from the floor,
and reflected in the glass
that covers its face,
stands a floor-to-ceiling
cherry book case.

There’s a green bankers lamp
with a brushed brass chain,
a worn leather chair,
the gentle rhythm of the rain,
a mahogany desk
with carved lions feet,
aside a window overlooking
a stormy midtown street.

Second-hand book
smells of cigars and perfume,
and for a time I am transported
to an old study room;

The only reasonable response to the atrocities committed by ICE agents is complete dissolution of the agency.

If you want to re-form a similar immigration agency afterwards, there must be a rigorous hiring process to weed out previous offenders and those with ties to extremist organizations.

This is so crucial and hasn't really been talked about enough. If we allow Trump, his family, and his friends to keep the proceeds from their corruption they will remain a standing threat to this country. This is the level of corruption that destroys countries.
