My word for 2025 is Community! I wasn’t going to do a word for this year, but as I started reflecting on the internal work I did in 2024, I realized I wanted to put that same effort into building better communities around me and with my readers and fellow authors this year.
My FMC's real first name is Aurora (She goes by her middle name) so that name doesn't come up too often. But every time it does I start singing "Health to the princess, wealth to the princess, long live the princess Aurora!"
After many years I've come to accept that I have a very predictable reading cycle that goes like this:
-doesn't want to read anything for 2 months
-picks up a historical romance and reads 3 more
-switch to contemporary, but only ones I already love
-finally pick up new books
-switch genres
-repeat
We need to do this 😭
