The writer/editor is a position within the Centerβs Religion research team, which seeks to promote a deeper understanding of religion and spirituality. The Religion research team conducts surveys, demographic analyses and other social science research in the United States and around the world, studying peopleβs religious beliefs and practices as well as their views on related issues, including religionβs role in public life. The ideal candidate will have a strong data journalism mindset, with the ability to translate complex quantitative findings into clear and engaging narratives that are nonpartisan and non-advocacy. This position will be embedded within the Religion research team, where the writer/editor will work collaboratively to shape the teamβs research agenda, including identifying key research questions; contributing to survey development; and synthesizing findings into accessible and compelling storylines. The writer/editor will also evaluate drafts of research reports to determine whether there are shortcomings in the analysis; edit, rewrite and reorganize drafts as necessary to improve flow and clarity; and work with researchers and designers to create appropriate charts and tables. In addition, the writer/editor will provide guidance and training to the Religion teamβs researchers and serve as a writing resource. Following the release of reports, the writer/editor may help disseminate research to the public through the Centerβs social media channels, videos, newsletters, and virtual or in-person gatherings, always adhering to the Centerβs independent, nonpartisan, non-advocacy stance.β―

It would be nice if Google Alerts stopped trying to convince me that my advisor publishes a new article every day, seven days a week.
*A lot* of universities have record enrollments this fall, which doesnβt fit claims by some conservatives that families are turning away from higher ed, nor the national mediaβs narrative about higher ed.
The people who get mad about this kind of honesty are largely not people who will be persuaded by the evidence that the person was horrible. Half the hate mail I've gotten has informed me that I have no evidence Kirk was a bigot, and I laid out evidence *in the column they're complaining about.*

Was looking into what Cognitive Scientists mean by βdomain-generalβ cognition, and then hit upon this. This is definitely NOT how we use that term.

I'm currently mentoring a high school student who is conducting and analyzing interviews for her project. Is anybody who does this regularly free to answer a few questions? Preferably this morning, but if not then by next week. #sociology #psychology #feministmethods
Most reporting is just not up to the task of registering both that 1) the White House is *attacking* universities *as institutions* 2) the White House is working *with* universitiesβ boards to achieve *common goals* for remaking and weakening those institutions
Isn't that what neutral means? Complicit but not accountable?
