The US-EU trade deal is reminiscent of a false discounting deal. They hike the price by 30% and then offer you a deal reduced by 15% leaving you accepting an offer higher than what it was originally. Except this one has repercussions for many people. #trump #tradedeal
An article from the Daily Mail with the headline "How to profit from war: the stocks to consider buying as the world re-arms".

if only :).
Dumit (2012) is close to what you wanted but is specifically on pharma. Apparantly covers how pharma trcik the public into trusting drugs over trusting their own body.
Strange, still works for me. Anyway, here are a few to be going on with:
Bryan S. Turner (2008) β The Body and Society: Explorations in Social Theory
Deborah Lupton (1996) β Food, the Body and the Self
Joseph Dumit (2012) β Drugs for Life: How Pharmaceutical Companies Define Our Health
That is a pretty specific emphasis so I would have to defer to somebody with more expertise in this area. However, I might start with this journal and see what you can find. I can always recommend some more general texts on the body.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. Bonus points as well because it looks interesting :)
Sorry should have specified. I meant PhD thesis :)
π Have any of my followers successfully converted their #sociology thesis into a monograph? If so, is it possible to link me to your open access thesis and let me know the name of the monograph it was converted into? I am about to do my own but it would be great to see an example. TIA π
I haven't been active on here for most of the last year or so. I came on today and found I had 1600 followers!!
You people are great!

I think I can honestly say that writing my PhD was much easier than trying to fight with Wordpress.
Thanks for letting me know. Itβs nice to get positive feedback. Writing often feels like speaking to empty room.
