It looks like my spins do now after only a few months of learning. Which tells me that you'll get there, you just need some practice. It's really pretty though, and I think it will end up being a great yarn in the end!

This is the finished yarn from the stormy sky spin I posted the other day. It's superwash merino wool, a little over 200 yards aran weight, and fluffed up beautifully in the bloom.

This was my first time playing with fluorescent dyes, and it was a struggle! The colors moved unexpectedly in the dye bath, and got a little muddy, but the spin mostly balanced it out into a lovely gradient yarn.

Finished this last week, but was feeling too lazy to take a picture. It's 100% Corridale wool, measuring at 204 yards of 2 ply sport weight(ish) yarn. I really do love these colors, they just make me happy.

It's official; I am filled with regret.
It's going to be a schlubby art yarn, no matter how hard I try to make it anything else. So I'm spinning it chunky, just to get it over with faster.

On to the next project! This yarn will be a Merino/Dorset/Lama wool blend that I'll dye after it's been spun. The Dorset has a short staple length, so hopefully the lama will balance it out in the spin. If not, I'll be filled with regret very soon... wish me luck!

I was trying something new when I dyed the roving and messed it up, but after seeing the finished yarn, the colors were just perfect. I just wish I could say it was intentional. 😅
I love this yarn so much! It's not the most consistent I've spun, but the colors create such a cool effect. Up close you see all the colors, but far away it's a variegated purple.
