The entire class divide in Stormlight is endlessly brought up in the first 2 books and completely dropped as a theme in the later ones.
I'd really like these books to follow up on the themes they bring up, and have especially the characters who find themselves in power to engage with them.
Wax cares so little for the political environment of Elendel it's ridiculous. The books even lampshade it by having him think about it. Both Miles and Bleeder is politically motivated to some degree and they're written as insane.
Vivenna doesn't go back to her country to advocate for change despite what she witnesses.
The entire ending of Warbreaker. Dalinar insists that they can't simply abolish slavery due to the instability it would cause when his most elite squad of soldiers are all former slaves.
The instability caused by revolutionary processes is a very interesting thing to talk about but fuck me so many of these books are like "this institution is rotten to the core, look at how people suffer because of it. oh well, that's life"
