Realizing that, not counting people like my father, it's been three years since anyone has called me by my deadname.
I think my new goal in life is to live long enough that I'll have been called my real name longer than my deadname.

Basically, no one is innocent here and Iβm tired of people claiming to be virtuous when theyβre just opportunists.
Iβm willing to bet the reason the Discord messages were only of the accused is because whoever they were DMing was agreeing with them.
So many of these clout-chasers are hypocrites that act virtuous in public but are raging elitists in private. Hell, my ex-friend is emblematic of this.
Was the accused in the wrong? Yes. But if the people calling them out actually had a problem with their behavior, theyβd have done this long ago.
Itβs theater, predicated on a kernel of truth. The community wants blood, and they found someone they can hate guilt-free.
Appreciate the heads up.
tbh, this has been building for a long time. Iβm mad about both parties in this, because itβs so blatant that it was a malicious callout that someone was saving for a rainy day. The way the Discord screens were carefully snipped. The taunting of wanting it all to be public.
Yeah, I can barely look at my feed on my other account without feeling the weight of inauthenticity suffocating me.
I love the game. I love the friends I've made in it so far. But fuck, I'm so tired of what the community becomes everywhere I go.
But no. Instead we'll vague about it, and then act self-congratulatory because we managed to be virtuous enough to not be the target of the day.
We are not considered people in this fandom, merely tools for likes and follows. It's disgusting, no wonder I'm drawn back to City of Heroes.
Getting real tired of my main fandomβs habit of not allowing people to grow and change.
People learn, people grow, and we MUST give them space to do that. Otherwise, why do the work to be better if people will hate them anyway?
the x*v community is a stage upon which thespians play at progress
Christian Nationalism is a fucking plague.
The way a politician can have an affair with a young staffer and drive her to suicide, then think they can excuse it with "I had a lapse in judgment, and I asked God for forgiveness, and he has. My faith is stronger than ever."
Fuck your faith, someone died!
One of my favorite stupid jokes to make is to pull up a photo of me and Michelle before my transition, then ask Michelle "Who's that guy you're with????"

A story about identity.
About wondering what it means to exist.
About finding people who make the question a little less frightening.
Thatβs the heart of Final Fantasy IX.

okay the good news is, gettex started working again.
the bad news is, we got some major adjustments to make, my friends.
And now Iβm using the tricks Iβve learned to make content for a player-revived MMO, because imo itβs important as stewards of the game to adhere to its overall style. It needs to feel like the same game, and that means using techniques from that era.
I remember as a teen, my parents got me Quake 3 for Xmas. I was walking around in the beginner map, and I noticed that the hanging lampβs light wasnβt βrealβ β it was a box in the shape of a light beam, with scrolling transparent textures to mimic dust particles.
I was fascinated.
It truly is a fascinating experience working with ages-old dev tools. So many modern conventions had yet to be established, so many techniques common today are literally impossible.
Itβs a fun challenge! And it means I can finally put my years and years of retro game tinkering to use.
