There’s something uplifting about many Eurovision entries. They’re not my typical songs but I always end up liking a number of them because they manage to transport me to a better… time? Place? I don’t know.

They seem timeless in a way, always giving me that feeling.

There are plenty of valid reasons for the latter, including injury, reduced physical capacity, your role becoming redundant, or simply realising that you’re in the wrong field.
