The whole room quietly went “awwww.”
I was relieved, it was so hard to do it correctly.
It’s also important because recommendations have changed! They’re now teaching hands-only CPR (no rescue breathing) and they’ve changed how you do it for infants.
None of these people has any idea what the folks they oversee actually do.
CPR saves lives and increases the likelihood of survival of cardiac arrest by a LOT. Highly recommend taking a class (our local fire dept offers them for free, or $50 if you want the official card).
* folks needing certification for their jobs
* a guy who is part of a ham radio society that supports local firefighters and law enforcement when comms go down
* people like me that just feel like knowing CPR is a good idea in general
I went to a CPR class tonight to renew my certification and was delighted by the folks who were there:
* couples expecting their first kids
* grandparents, including a couple named BERNIE AND BERNICE
* a young guy who wants to be a firefighter
* several members and coaches from a local rowing club

I have always wanted to go there.
The way I inadvertently shrieked a profanity when I saw EA and AI mentioned in the same sentence
Well, I guess this is no longer an issue.
I would be LIVID
Our neighbors have a huge ceanothus bush and in the summer you can hear it buzzing from several feet away!
Ew! Buzz off, cat.
You know what we haven’t done in a while is PETTY COMPLAINTS. Drop yours below. They must be petty!

Mine has really fast cycles! Like <45 minutes!
We recently got a Speed Queen top loader and so far I really like it. Is it energy efficient? Not really! Does it get stuff clean? Hell yeah.
Scoop onto a plate with a spatula, usually.
We do them on a sheet pan under the broiler so the chips get extra crispy. Cheese/beans or meat on top in the oven, guac etc added after.
Nachos!
Ate lunch at 3pm, so adjustment to the time change is going well.
I have felt really off lately and it just occurred to me that this might be why? In addition to…everything else.
Yeah, the first US outbreak happened here (in a nursing home the next town over from us) so we got to lead the way (yay?).
Six years ago today the first case of COVID was announced at my large higher ed employer and we became the first institution in the country to pivot to remote learning. I left my office and didn’t come back for like two years.
I’m sorry what
Hell yeah PWHL!!
Yup, it’s a big concern for senior management like my spouse. And at the same time we are seeing recent grads struggle to find jobs as companies replace more and more people with AI. Fun times.
I work in higher ed so…yeah
