Spent SIX HOURS today on the phone with a friend from Ireland who I hadn’t seen since he was in town last summer. It was exactly what I needed.

My 3yo daughter has made up two fake TV shows she pretends to watch, they are called “Mitch and John’s Hotel” and “Bird of the Season” and tbh just from the titles alone I’d watch either of them.

We just got a new case and my boss was like “I can assign this to you if you want, but how’s your workload? You can say no if you don’t think you’ll have time” and I was like “YES PLEASE GIVE ME TASKS”

I got assigned a very tedious task yesterday (making a Word template, copy/pasting stuff into the template, and then formatting it so it looks nice), and unironically thought to myself, “oh good, this will kill at least an hour if not longer.”

A big stressful work thing has finally calmed down quite a bit (at least in terms of my role), and in some ways that’s nice but also I am BORED out of my MIND now.

I was like, “thanks for updating me on this! But also, uhh…?” And she was like “OH my bad sorry!”

My firm has <25 employees, so I hear from the partners pretty regularly - but the other day one of the partners sent me a message about something Very Important and I was confused about why she only sent it to me 😅 (Turns out it was meant for a group chat.)

I would say 10-ish. (I was 12.)

I’m supposed to get a piece of information from a person who is refusing to cooperate with us. My boss had to be like, “she’s right, this guy sucks.”

Shoutout to my boss for backing me up today when I was in the unfortunate position of having to say “no, seriously, I actually cannot do this thing you’re asking me to do” to one of the partners

I’m relieved, but also…how???? Did she escape and come back? Did I somehow miss her when I took everything out of the cage? Is she a GHOST????

SHE WAS IN THE CAGE.

Anyway, I was getting ready for bed and heard chirping coming from the cage. They usually only chirp at each other, so I thought maybe the other gecko could see her outside the cage. I went to investigate.

I’ve had escapees before, but usually I could figure out HOW they got out. I decided to let her be, because in past similar situations they’ve always hidden at first and then emerged in a day or two to look for food.

Last night, I couldn’t find one of the geckos. I took everything out of the cage and she definitely wasn’t in there. Checked all the surrounding areas, no gecko. I was a bit perplexed, because all of the possible escape routes looked secure and I hadn’t left the cage open.

A very weird thing happened last night! Okay so I have two geckos who share a cage. They are TINY (maybe 3 inches long including tail) and they are little escape artists. I have to be careful to make sure every opening is blocked off, because they WILL figure out where the escape routes are.

I want no news stories except for this. This is all I want current events to be.

I’m hoping the new joycon attachment design will be more durable than the last version. The ones on my old one were constantly disconnecting, which is the main reason why I got a new one.

Mostly runs the same games as the original for now, but I imagine that will change pretty quickly. The bigger display is nice.

Switch 2 verdict: I like it!

Couldn’t sleep last night because I thought I messed up real bad on a work thing. I told my boss this morning and explained what I was doing to resolve it, and she was like “oh that’s not your fault, no need to put so much effort into fixing somebody else’s mistake.” Phew!

Tie between Macbeth and The Tempest. Romeo and Juliet if it’s being framed as a cautionary tale and not a love story. Honorable mention to The Comedy of Errors.

One was a teacher (kindergarten and high school math) but he was fired for being a member of the Communist Party. He later started a very successful wholesale jewelry business. I don’t know what the other one did, I think some kind of sales?

10/10 loaf. Even the finest artisan bakeries could never.

I brought some in to work and it’s been tough to refrain from eating them all.

Is there a good dupe recipe out there for Costco chocolate chip cookies? I need to know what they put in those that makes them so good.

$4.15 at the place I usually go to, and it’s one of the less expensive ones in town!

I have a cube, so my space is limited 😅 My boss has several Lego sets in her office, so that’s what I aspire to!
