How you watch this, and this isn't a rarity this season, and you think the coaching isn't a problem, I'll never understand. It's like you've decided that the coach is great and can do no wrong. Get your head off your arse.

I see that the #LFC podcast industrial complex has decided that the manager's tactics don't matter and Macca is the problem. Sound.
Good read. In late Jan, I said thinking anything changes with Slot in charge is choosing ignorant optimism. Sadly, it's even truer now. This is a slow walk to mediocrity that will bear itself out as we get knocked out of every competition with nothing to play for by mid-April.

Start of ssn, we both agreed that we should see a more coherent team at some point. My timeline was late Nov, and yours was in Dec? I take on board that injuries have affected that timeline. But he's had a fairly consistent group that's available. I haven't seen anything near coherence in late March
Regardless, it's obvious that there are coaching issues with this team imo; tactically and otherwise. Are there personnel issues? Yes! But it's difficult to see a repeatable pattern of play that increases chances of winning a football game. That's a coaching issue, not so much talent.
I recall seeing one tbf. But I can hazard a guess that it's a generalization that doesn't factor or appropriately measure the intangibles that a manager can add to a team in terms and leadership and culture building, and probably weighted toward tactics and team quality.
The premise of this line of questioning is that the coach has little influence on the team. I'm not sure what to make of that.
I always chuckle when people say we didn't need Isak. Ekitike is better than I thought, but if you think he's at Isak 's level, you really don't know why we went ahead and spent Β£130M on Isak after Β£79M on Ekitike. There are levels to this goal scoring shit.
Lol. If only he was good enough we'd have kept him.
I can't watch this and from the TL, we've been abject.
I still can't believe those paid to do the job thought Gakpo was good enough as a starter when a casual fan like me knew it was a dumb idea when it looked like that's what we were going to do.
Β£50m would be a great deal.
Alexis doesn't sound like he's interested in renewing his contract. At 27 with a contract expiring when he turns 29, if he wants to stay, he'll be haggling for a renewal asap.
Maybe. But we have to get CL at a minimum. While I think we'll get it (Villa will struggle ), it's not a guarantee given the unpredictability in our performances, and how we find spectacular ways to lose games. You know I also don't think he wants the job long term due to his family dynamics.
A dignified parting of ways is inevitable. There's so many in the fanbase that's soured on the manager. To win then back, he'll have to win the CL this season. I just don't see that happening.
That season, we hit a stride at the end of the and had the best record in the last 10 games or so iirc. I just don't see this team doing that.
For someone that loves kebab, that's weird of him.
The most delusional homer article I've read in a while.

Ha ha ha. Having the tie just before the Carabao Final is the mother of all narratives π
Well, ever since he compared Mane to a chimp, he kind of put me off reading his shite, tbf. And whenever I do read his shit, it comes across like heβs talking down to those who disagree with him. Heβs a hysterical shit slinger & notorious conspiracy theorist where referees are concerned, too.
Arsenal at home. Make peace with it.
Lost me at Pau....
That's the one claim I've contemplated over and over from reading this thread. This is the same theory as the New Mexico case.
I've seen two of this list. This from Thomo and one from Jan Molby. Jan had Suarez and VVD. I agree with you, there's no way I'm doing a top 10 #LFC team that I won't have VVD. But, I'm having Luis all day too. Where he ranks is the only debate.
There's a market in the dark corners of the internet that Lubo has a US and worldwide patent issued in his name. It's called "a method of comprised of whining about other people's opinions" π
Says a lot when 2 players of the "older generation" have Luis Suarez in their top 10 all time LFC players despite playing only 3.5 ssn at #LFC. He's the most talented player I've seen at #LFC in my lifetime and I watched John Barnes and some King Kenny. Longevity is the reason he won't rank higher.
Where?
