Many, many Americans turn to their religion to inform their politics. Some of those people have the worst, ugliest politics imaginable. Some of those people are among the best of us, fighting the good fight, and it is not a coincidental relationship between their religion and their politics.

The American voting public is extremely frustrating but one thing they are pretty consistent on is that that the most effective way to get them to vote is to tell them "I am going to steal your vote."

We live in a world where the president has been handed broad immunity for law-breaking and it sucks shit. But he can’t fly the planes himself, so one obvious circuit breaker is to be clear that people who break the law on his behalf will be punished, and then follow through on that threat later.

There are no rules, they don’t actually care about respect, decorum, bipartisanship or debate, and only pretend to do so to browbeat you into submission. Nothing is going to change until more people realise that and respond accordingly; including to the media and politicians who have failed them.
