That’s my attitude as well. It started out as zoysia, but I see fogfruit, butterfly peas and occasional lobelia creeping in, which I encourage.🙂

Per the Florida wildflower foundation, pinxter are fragrant too

There is a florida flame azalea (R. austrinum) that is fragrant. I’ll ask my spouse if the pinxter has a fragrance

My guess is that they are since they are not hybrids sold by big box stores. I can’t detect many smells anymore, so I can’t verify that.☹️

During my frequent dog walks, I notice things. This past few days it was violets in neighbors lawns. I took a brief look and both of these appear to be native to Florida #violets #nature #nativeplants #bloomscrolling #spring #Florida #EastCoastKin 🌼

I have used peppermint soaked cotton balls and they seem to work for a while. Also considering hot pepper, as they seem to avoid that too.

I wish i could do something similar, but the squirrels here would just tear all of that up. They are way over-populated because neighbors think they’re cute. Instead, i started plants in my garage under grow lights and then transplant outdoors surrounded by chicken wire until they are edtablished
