Very beautiful, the contrast and long exposure looks amazing.

Waves receding after crashing over obsidian (smooth glassy volcanic) rocky cliffs. The water at the bottom is partially in shadow from a stack, but where the water has hit the cliffs it's in the sun. The exposure is slowed down the water is smooth, and there's a fair amount of spray.

Last Feb I went back to Hellnar on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in #Iceland, where I'd been stuck in snow the previous Jan, hoping for something similar. Didn't get a flake of snow! I was able to explore more, including these amazing obsidian cliffs with waves constantly crashing over them though :)

The full Snow Moon rising over the Adirondack landscape yesterday at 5:13 PM. After considering lots of locations to 'shoot the moon' last evening, I decided Cascade Mt would work best for my visions of a photo of a 'snow' moon.

A jagged rock spire rises from a wide, arid desert plain, with tufts of dry grass and scattered stones in the foreground under a pale blue sky.

The 27 million-year-old volcanic neck known as Shiprock is a sacred monadnock in northwest New Mexico which rises over 1500 feet above the surrounding high desert floor.
