The original H-alpha discovery image below, demonstrating the huge improvement from MUSE!
An amazing result using some beautiful MUSE data!
In my Masterβs project I found this bow shock while searching for the remnants of nova explosions in H-alpha imaging with the Issac Newton Telescope. Great to see all the hard the work the team have put in since to bring this to publication!
You can read more about how high resolution spectroscopy can constrain sub-Neptune atmospheres (and provide constraints that are comparable with JWSTβ¦) in the paper we published this year! (ui.adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2025MNRA...)
Congratulations to Luke Parker (@luke-parker.bsky.social) and Prof Jayne Birkby (@jaynebirkby.bsky.social) on their poster presentation at #ExoclimesVII! Showcasing the incredible high resolution spectroscopy work being conducted within Prof Birkbyβs research group!
Congratulations to Luke Parker @luke-parker.bsky.social on his poster presentation at #ExoclimesVII, you can read more about this technique in this paper: arxiv.org/abs/2405.08867
