His little white chin accent slays me

His little white chin accent slays me
You can sleep on the plane home
We lived off my dad's income when my bro and I were little, but my mom got a job as soon as we were both old enough to be at home on our own after school. Good thing too, since my dad died when I was 15, and we would have been in a really bad place if she didn't already have a regular income.
You sure packed a lot in during your visit!
I have no working class cred, but the grandfather who was a doctor used his position as head surgeon to help the Danish resistance in WWII; eventually he was caught and imprisoned, though it sounds like it was just a regular jail (he survived). The other grandfather was a chemist.
When one of my Danish cousins was married to a rich guy, she raved about going to Dubai to shop. I couldn't relate.
Those bedroom eyes--"may I join you on the hammock?"
What a perfect little soul patch!
You're absolutely right
Don't make me choose! The vocals on Fall on Me are sublime, though. I also love the ones on Harborcoat, Orange Crush, 9-9, Try Not to Breathe, Belong, Undertow, etc etc. The backing vocals on Leaving New York make it a much better song.
Mine is Ulrich, which is my mother's maiden name. It's led to a lifetime of people thinking that my middle initial should be a V, Y, or W--even when I dramatically round out the bottom of the letter--because they can't believe someone would have a middle name beginning with a U.
One of my dog friends rescues elk hounds--they're so much fun! And so very shedding!
It's entirely too much
Thank you for including Scott Walker in your watch list. I'm not sure Wisconsin will ever fully recover from the damage he and his cohort did.
Jeremy!!!! So glad he's home!
Yeah, apparently silicone breaks down after a while, so it's best to throw them at ICE when that happens
Oh no! I hope you find him soon!
I felt so bad for him. He was distraught, but he needed this book for tenure, so he had to try to hold it together and excise that eloquent passage about a relationship that no longer existed. Then he had to get through reviewing my edits on a book that would forever be associated with that guy.
Reminds me of a freelance project years ago. In the preface, the author had lovely words about how wonderful his husband had been through the whole tenure process. When I sent off the edit, the author told me that the husband had just dumped him, and he might need more time for the review.
Something like this might have saved the local high school kid who was killed while trying to get to the bus stop last week. He was in the crosswalk, and he'd activated the flashing lights that are supposed to get drivers' attention but so rarely do. Driver was going 40 in a 25 zone.
Good to see you!
Love that this photo and that headline suggests that the anti-ICE people are the ones cosplaying as soldiers
He's pure joy
Local government can be so fascinating
The neighborhood turkeys are taking a stroll and being silly
Having gritted my teeth through my org's internal security protocol training this week, I feel seen
It sounds amazing! I hope a US streaming service picks it up
I'm sorry we won't be getting more updates on her ears, but I'm so happy for her and her family!
we can bring to birth a new world from the ashes of the old
