If you're wondering whether our books will be on itch - the plan is yes - but we have to check some tax stuff with itch because of the way we're set up and the state we live in.
Watch this space...
Quick reminder that we're gathering data to work out how many copies we should print... So if you're keen to order our US printed version, please fill in the form...

Apparently I've provided sufficient fuzzles and may now continue about my day.
(Actually, that happened a while ago, but filling boxes with books while cool doesn't make for such pretty photos).
Sorry not sorry.
Kate with Sasha, one of the cats for whom she is a mediocre servant. Sasha is curled around her neck and (not pictured) periodically batting her neck with a paw.
I am sorry to inform you that after three orders, I have been instructed that I must make up for yesterday's failure to provide sufficient fuzzles because I was absent without purrmission from my owner and so order shipping is transiently pawsed.
It's another shipping day!
Wish me luck with the cats who, I'm sure, would like to help with shipping your books.
(For values of help that include eating the books and reorganizing the paperwork by how much fun it is to scrunch up and slide across the floor on).
'Condemning war crimes is transmisogynistic' is a new and stupid low.

Shipping set up - laptop, sticker printer, boxes of books, pile of receipts for books to ship, shipping boxes, postal scale
Oh, and if you want to make it in time for this week's shipping (likely Thursday because we are but a small thing and shipping takes a big chunk of a day) which we need to spend typesetting and...doing accounts.

Hopefully we can stop with the learning experiences, although we're hoping to start doing our taxes for the business today so...
We also identified why it wasn't doing a great job of estimating the price (limitations of our store front and the settings we'd configured which were close enough for shipping one book, but lots of folks bought two, which is great, but sucked for our shipping estimator).
Okay, Media Mail is back as an option. We found out why it wasn't showing up which was a PEBCAK issue.
Next time Kate says "Lets launch three books in March" let's remind Kate that it's also tax season.
That's absolutely understandable! We print locally through a small women owned printshop for our own copies, but until we get more established decided to use Ingram for the moment.
Yep, we use pirate ship but it wasn't available as an option when we doing our shipping through them.
Yeah, I think once we have things more settled and reliable on the shipping front we'll probably reinstate media mail and hopefully can subsidize the cost of international some. I think for a lot of folks abroad we have POD through Ingram so, that may make more sense.
Oh ah. That's useful to know.
Maybe when we are a bit further along we'll reinstate media mail as an option.
Although while media mail's unavailability in both the USPS shipping thing and the one we actually use (but appearing in the USPS price calculator) would have slowly killed any profit we might have made, it was the shipping to Canada which in multiple cases came out $10-20 less than the actual price
Laptop, label printer, receipts, books in boxes, shipping boxes, stamp, and a postal scale.
First stack of books off to be mailed.
But still feels good to get these shipped.
