When I was organizing for a parish ministry we’d offer an $150-300 honorarium depending if it was participating in a panel or giving a lecture/talk and $1500-2000 for a two-three talk weekend retreat with accompaniment. $1000 for a single brand new talk outside the academic’s field of expertise.
I think many Christians are making a theological, not a historical, claim when they say that Jesus was Palestinian, in the same way they might say Jesus was black or any other persecuted group.
