Americans are dying so that Kushner can make money
Sorry to get political again on the silly Nintendo fangirl account but hey gang: when do we start really worrying about this shit. Are we there yet? Feels like we are there.
Trump now has more casualties in his stupid war, than were lost in the Afghanistan pull out, a debacle that Trump himself caused.. You know the military evac he said Biden completely mismanaged and would never have happened had he been in charge of it.
The Trump regime's quiet reinstatement of a sweeping abortion ban across the Veteran Affairs healthcare system has sparked outrage and warnings about the policyβs devastating human toll on veterans.
This case was mind-boggling to me -- a real Handmaid's Tale moment. And of course, Florida is at the front of the line.

Seriously? Another case of "where is the money?"

Of course it's the point:
We are a nation of 349M, yet one man decided to launch our nation into a reckless, illegal war without congressional authorization or counsel or the support of the American people. He didnβt think he had any duty to sell it or serve the peopleβs interests. This is why despotic rule is so dangerous.

Let there be as much outrage from politicians in Washington when kids go hungry as there is when I break bread with New Yorkers.
I think Catholics might be waking up to the fact that the Christian Nationalists don't want them around either.

HOLY SHIT.
A dark money group, hidden behind a bunch of shell companies, is paying influencers thousands of dollars PER POST to attack @katmabu.bsky.social on social media a month before her election.
Thank you to the people who declined the money and went forward with this. So who's behind this?
So the administration is trying to shift the narrative from "we jumped into this war without real planning, so that's why it's going this way" to "we planned for years, but we are incompetent to act on that planning, so that's why it's going this way."
I'm not sure that's the flex they think it is.
Thanks! I have her on my #UnlikelyHeroes page for now but will consider upgrading her: secure.actblue.com/donate/house...
Michael McFaul: "It is a reflection of our current political environment that Trump has been able to take the United States into a war that few Americans wanted, that he never mentioned on the campaign trail, and that received neither congressional authorization, nor UN or NATO approval."
"Personal loyalty to Trump is the most important qualification for aspiring Trump judges. But rarely has a nominee auditioned this publicly, or with this many hashtags."
Boots on the ground in Iran alert
Hegseth's advocacy of war crimes is now such a frequent occurrence it draws scant attention. Thank goodness for Brian Finucane... bsky.app/profile/bcfi...
At our roundtable in #Paramount, veterans spoke out against the war on Iran and how the Trump administration continues to make life harder for those who served.
Travelers and park visitorsβ this is why you are encouraged to photograph the installations and signage when the you human visit a park.
Kristi Noem is the exception. In this administration, despite outrageous actions and mistakes, there are no consequences for pretty much anyone.

Sometimes I don't know how to live with being an American among Americans. This war of choice, launched by the least qualified, most self-entitled people in the world, sets so much misery in motion. How did we (elites, media, law, & We The People) allow this to happen? (I know I'm whining. Sorry.) π
Two things about π not talking about objectives for the war:
1. If he doesn't talk about the war, folks in the "don't watch news unless Trump is talking" bubble don't even know it's happening.
2. He gets to declare victory by simply retconning an objective we did achieve and declaring victory.
I find comparisons interesting; this one came out of the Open Books investigation of Pentagon spending with the details about food, the piano, etc. (But no money for SNAP.) Clip from Lever Daily:
Right, so we+Israel assassinate their leader (plus much of the family) during Ramadan. Yes, that should do it.
And I am certainly no fan of John Bolton, but we know he has been the object of Iranian assassination threats for years, and π cancelled his security coverage as retaliation. So π€·ββοΈ
The reported push to move some air defense missile batteries from the Korean Peninsula to the Middle East comes amid concerns about Americaβs munition stockpiles amid the Iran War.
Chris Murphy: "I Just came from a two hour, closed door classified briefing on the war. It just confirmed to me it's totally incoherent. We are not gonna be able to achieve any of our stated objectives ... this is a disaster of epic proportions, a 10 day debacle"
