How does not being able to use a toilet unassisted, or play baseball, or write a poem, or pay taxes make any person less worthy of love, acceptance and a place in this world?
“Autism” isn’t destroying families. Stigma, marginalisation, trauma, and the lack of acceptance & support is what destroys
I want to swear as that’s the only words that express my utter disgust, upset, anger etc about this. I feel upset as an autistic person, I feel immense anger as a parent to autistic kids. And for all the incredible families and kids I work with. Absolute utter BS.
Imagine being 12 years old — a science-loving, neurodivergent American kid — and reading headlines from the U.S. presidential declaring plans to investigate the “causes of the #autism #epidemic.” Vaccines. Parenting styles. Air. Water. Food. Everything “on the table.”

This is a recruitment poster for the How I Communicate project. The focus of the project is the communication of young autistic people who are minimally or non-speaking in education settings in the UK. We are seeking five parents of autistic young people aged 13 - 21 to take part in an online focus group of 90 minutes.
