I was lucky enough to help with banding the first few of the new offspring years ago for a NABU project....nowadays, there are so many that it isn't even feasible anymore ๐
They are such beautiful exotic birds! My hometown had one of the northernmost breeding colonies in Germany for a long time.
Now they've already 'conquered' additional areas much further north ๐ซ
I am lucky enough to have a small colony of these guy enjoying the feeders of my flats backyard. They even stay overnight in the colder months ๐
Awww, the wren simply has to be my local forest songbird. Such a beautiful voice on such a tiny lad. What a wonderful photo ๐
