It’s getting much colder and the rising cost of living has made it harder to stay warm this winter. That’s why we’ve coordinated a network of local organisations to run Warm Welcomes spaces! It was wonderful to have Lewisham Councillor Amanda De Ryk visit some of our Warm Welcome venues this week 💝

Our Winter Wreath Making Recap 🎄
A look back at one of our winter events at Wildcat Wilderness was our wreath making event. Visitors came to the garden to make wreaths for the festive period. We raised over £750 to help pay for repairs at the garden! Thank You to our community 😆

Our Time Bank Choir spreading lots of Christmas cheer at the Old Vic!🎄🎶

It was a lovely opportunity for our choir members to connect and learn with children from year 2-6 at St Saviours.

They all had a lot of fun getting to perform on stage for friends and family🌟

Here are some highlights from this year's Bank of Things Christmas Appeal!🎄🎁

This year, with the help of some amazing volunteers we gave out 177 gift bags full of toiletries, sanitary products, skin care, hats and gloves, notebooks, fidget toys and more!🧤

October gave us so many moments to celebrate, learn and honour black history in Lewisham!

From sharing a Caribbean-inspired meal at FoodCycle and exploring the Black Cultural Archives to coming together to share stories and learn from one another🗣️📖

We planted a Japanese cherry blossom tree at Orchard Garden's to honour the memory of Fabian, a loved member of the community🌱

At FoodCycle Lewisham this week, we gave reclaimed food a new life - transforming it into a free, Caribbean-inspired meal for our New Cross guests. 🍇

As we mark Black History Month and World Food Day, we reflect on what drives us: creating spaces where everyone can share food and culture together.

We're launching a grants pot of £130,000 in partnership with @LewishamCouncil to help community organisations to support residents impacted by the cost-of-living crisis and social isolation this winter, by providing a Warm Welcome🧶🎨

October’s underway but we wanted to look back at just some of what the Lewisham Local team got up to in September! 🌱🌟

We know what it’s like to be out, desperate for the toilet and not have a clue where to find one📍

In Lewisham, there’s no need to worry! With 84 venues providing free access to their toilets for the public - just look out for our stickers in the windows and you’ll know they’re part of the scheme!👀

No one should be stuck at home because they're not sure where to find accessible toilets📍🚽

That's why we’ve funded 84 venues across Lewisham to provide free access to their toilets for the public🧻

Big thanks to councillors Aliya Sheikh and Edison Huynh showing support for the scheme!

July = one year since Good Food Lewisham launched their 3-year Action Plan to transform Lewisham’s food system!🥕🍽️
