Iβm so excited to start this book! Kylie is fantastic at haunting, dark, beautiful stories and I need a good distraction π€ Thankful for the advanced copy!

Thatβs my old school! Itβs true we stayed pretty insulated from the city around us, at least the first couple of years. Just trips to the cinema or Fashion Outlets, and the eateries and convenience store on Highland really.
Nice! I used to live about where this yellow dot is! π
Like tonightβs cauli-power salad! Yum!
Cover of the book Life Changing Salads by Danielle Brown
I have loved every single thing Iβve made from this book so far.
I canβt wait for todayβs #ewgc titles to start rolling in. Iβve had a string of βmehβ reads lately and need something to sink my teeth into Iβll love!
Argh, Iβm going to miss todayβs #ewgc - the first of the year π©
I look forward to catching up with all the titles later!!
Another title Iβd like to mention for #LibFaves24 is FOUR THOUSAND PAWS by Lee Morgan - this memoir of a vet caring for the dogs of the Iditarod reminded me of reading James Herriot at times. A good amount of honesty & detail scattered in a largely light recounting.
Book cover image for Ann Hoodβs STOLEN CHILD, featuring a field of poppies under a hazy blue sky
My 2nd #LibFaves24 pick is STOLEN CHILD by Anne Hood - This book had such a lovely feel. The characters and their stories/paths were interesting, but it was really the emotion and atmosphere that absorbed me.
To make sure I get it out there: WARM HANDS OF GHOSTS by Katherine Arden is my first #LibFaves24 pick. I love the magic of Ardenβs writing (as a huge Winternight fan).
This one is slow and haunting as it takes the reader on an ethereal journey into the horrors of WWI. By far my favorite of 2024. β€οΈ
I missed the first couple days of #libfaves24 but I only have a few books I really want to mention so thatβs ok π
Same (but to a curtain rod)!
So happy to have such a flurry of new books to read courtesy of #ewgc! Hope to βseeβ you all in the new year (as my coworker said, can you believe a quarter of this century is almost gone). Thank you all!
I loved Greta James! #ewgc
I love her books - happy to hear another ones coming out!!
Cover of the book Bat Eater, featuring an Asian woman with a bat
If dark books with some gore and horror are your thing, Iβd recommend BAT EATER AND OTHER NAMES FOR CORA ZENG by Kylie Baker. It looks like the pub date has been pushed to April so thereβs plenty of time to get this one in!
Iβm so happy to be back at #ewgc! Iβm hoping to read (&review) more in 2025 again (π€)
Yes please!!
Oh my gosh, thank you so much for this. I just started the painful process of searching for the peeps and stumbled upon this! Thank you!!!
I counted 327 blooming lady slippers over about 2 miles of a hike β€οΈ For a number of years I saw few/none & have worried about their decline. Last year felt I saw more, then this!
