Yeah, the third Nobrow book never materialized so this includes what would have been printed there, I assume.
Going off his patreon, he also did a number of edits throughout and created a handful of new pages.
Jesse Moynihan’s 448 page sci-fi creation myth, FORMING is now available for pre-order through Fantagraphics Books!
It’s a monumental 15-year thesis on the nature of reality and the power of art. Also, it’s really funny and beautifully painted.

I had the opportunity to storyboard the intro for Fionna and Cake season 2 and this was the animatic I put together for it!
Shout out to @smallbu.bsky.social for going so hard animating the final version. And to composer Amanda Jones for the heart pumping score!
I started this painting when the final handful of Fionna and Cake episodes were being wrapped up and shipped. I lost the PSD file so this is as far as it'll get to being finished!
New ongoing comic to begin release THIS THURSDAY dec 25th aka xmas

Fionna and Cake season 2 has finished airing (😵💫) so I wanted to share my concepts for the end credits from each episode. The goal was for it to complement the gorgeous storybook art direction of @michaeldeforge.bsky.social 's title cards
A series of storyboard panels from Fionna and Cake season 2 episode 9: The Worm and His Orchard. Huntress Wizard carefully approaches and enters a dark hut that resembles an apoptotic cell. She finds Witch Wizard in a heap siphoning green energy from the mycelial branches of the Undergrowth with treelike arms and legs.
HW creeps into the growthlike structure toward camera.
Close up shot of Witch Wizard slumped over.
Camera pans up slowly as WW rises to her feet. She's covered in and distorted by fungal growths from overconsumption of green magic.
Huntress and Witch Wizard meeting and rematch storyboard panels that i have on my phone until i can do proper posts in earnest. HW in second panel courtesy of @jasonmdwyer.bsky.social!
title card with black letters over a bright green background with the text "The Bear and the Rose." Two large black antler-shaped branches frame the first half of the title at screen center. A black rose with a red spiral on it grows out of the ground beneath the title. The rest of the composition is composed of sharp black tree trunks, black shrubbery, and multicolored plants growing all around.
