Early on in Guillermo del Toro's #Pinocchio, we are shown that the Talking Cricket has a portrait of #Schopenhauer on his wall. This curtain-raises the film’s focus on inevitable suffering, as well as the tension between will and representation that dominates Pinocchio’s world.
